oh, and wasd movement is just about the WORST idea ever. i wont go into it, but those who have played a lot of mmorpgs will know whats up. the left hand is made for hotkeys, not walking forward.
Played nearly a dozen MMOs, and WoW did a LOT of things right. Did it do it the best, no, but they did it everything well enough that they have millions of players. My favorite MMO I've ever played was Final Fantasy XI. Much harder and much much more unforgiving than WoW ever was or ever will be, but it had a much more personal feel to it.
No MMO will ever get everything right for everybody, it's impossible. WoW just happened to get enough of them right for everybody to have the biggest playerbase.
Also, WASD is perfect for movement, it's natural. Unless your combat rotation is retardedly huge (in most cases that's a caster, and if so, guess what, you're typically not constantly on the move) you're fine. Also, on that note, Razer Naga ftw, love mine, even for non MMO games.
Still, I don't have anything against people for not liking WoW, I enjoy it (although I haven't played in 2 months, RIFT beta has been keeping me busy). I'm merely arguing to the OP that he either tried it over a year ago and just now decided to post, or he's terrible at combat and watching his own health if he died MULTIPLE times in 20 minutes in a starter area lol.

I felt the same when when my buddy first started playing and I was into FFXI. I watched him raid and do battlegrounds and pretty much thought meh. Until the first time I did them for myself. Watching and doing can produce 2 different feelings about something. Not always, but they can.Edited by Marafice Eye - 2/16/11 at 9:55pm
