I'm not exactly sure how those frequency charts work, but if I recall correctly, that last test I saw of a frequency response had a continous function line for a logitech speaker. There was audioble sound coming from that 250-500 Hz range?

Notice how much lower the 200-800Hz (roughly) range is, compared to the rest?

You can see EXACTLY where the subwoofer stops responding. Right around 250-300Hz or so. That's where the frequency just DROPS.

Yeah, great sound quality right there.

So guys? What would you recommend cheap? Cause I'm not an audiophile and most of the time I have eardphones on, but I do enjoy speakers..

So lets say... What's the best under 150$ or 200$?

I'd personally say grab a good set of powered bookshelfs (others would have to comment on which ones they like best). And if you have any of the budget leftover, look into an inexpensive subwoofer to add with them. The Dayton SUB100 is usually what I recommend, but the price has gone up on it. Used to be around $99, now its $139 .

What if I want 5.1?

I know you won't like this, but I saw some pretty good reviews about the Logitech X-540...

The X-540 IS in fact junk, I will say that. Honestly, anything besides the Z-series from Logitech that I have used is all terrible. I have owned the Z-2300s, and the Z-5500s, and I wouldnt complain about either set for the price I paid.($60 for the 2300s, $110 for the 5500s...) They both got pretty loud, and sounded ALMOST decent. I havent ever really listened to any crazy audiophile setups, so I cant say much there, although I will say my Polk Monitor50s/M10s/Yamaha 467 receiver setup sound noticeably cleaner than the Z5500. I would not say the 2300 or 5500 are terrible though, especially if you are on a really tight budget, and just want loud music with loud bass. I would never pay close to retail for either set though.

Also, pioneerisloud, I am sorry to hear you are childish enough to block me because of one post regarding my dislike towards Pioneer. I know how EXTREMELY hard it is to make a new username, especially for someone, well...not that "quick."

I bought a PSP with games and crap from my friend for $30 then traded all the PSP stuff and $80 for the Z5500 set. The control pod is dead now though...

BTW the subwoofer goes under the desk near a wall right, but doesn't your desk block the sound from reaching your ears?

Yeah, great sound quality right there.
Ya, I see a dip, but the line is still a continous graph. Meaning that there is still sound reproduction in that range. Althought it is 6 dB lower than other ranges.

I'm sorry, I'm just not understanding these charts? If there is a continous line, then there were indead sound coming from that range?
