Ivy is just a shrink of Sandy. The bigger deal is the chipset.

This is Sandy Bridge-E. It will have a completely NEW socket. IVY will still be on 1155.

Eventually. But the 22nm IB die shrink will eventually make its way to LGA 2011/1356 sometime in 2012 and will likely retain socket compatibility like IB will with 1155.

LGA2011 will be intel extreme only.
Which means $1000+ CPUs... only.
The only affordable platform will remain LGA1155 folks, sadly that's how it is

1356 will be the direct 1366 replacement, its no 2011 but its still an improvement over 1155.
