1090T how hot is to hot - Page 2

Liquid fluids such as water can "accept" more heat than air so in other words there would be a big jump from air to water cooling,Hyper N520 does not has a nice surface since its a low end cooler h50 does , in other words the greater the surface is the efficient the heat transfer is done , just stick to the H50 it has great performance and looks very stylish.

How hot is too hot:
When your board blows up.
Don't push an x6 on that board, please, for the sake of everyone here, don't cause the 7th or 8th recorded blow up on that motherboard with an OC'ed x6.

Sadly, yes. Despite mosfet heatsinks, I've seen that board blow up so much with heavily overclocked x6 processors that it's not even funny.

Thread Starter
ya i heard bad things about this board, but i went ahead and picked up the H50 was at best buy and they incorrectly had it priced @ 49.99 so lol...wasn't sure for 75 bucks but for 50 no brainer...the install was a pain in the ass and the brackets are very cheap. had to be very careful b/c the way it like bends the baord with the back mounting bracket when u tighten it. All in all i'm happy don't see a huge difference when idle about 3-4C but at max load i see a drop of about 10-12C so... it's worth it my goal was stable @ 4.4 i can't get there b/c of my power supply i believe but i'm content with 4.2 and it's rock solid there.

As far as the board goes i've seen a couple reports but can't imagine there wasn't some form of user error there my board stays around 30-31C however i will say the Chipset heatsink on board gets pretty hot to the touch gonna get a corsair spot fan for it tomorrow @ microcenter.... Any other suggestions i'm all ears.
