You did remove any protective plastic from the base of the heatsink before installing?

Ok here are my full Specs

Crosshair IV ( Mother Board)
Amd 1090t ( cpu)
Gskill Ram 8 gigs Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL
Cosair tw750
Radeon 6870 Hd
Cooler master Hyper 212+
Cooler master HaF 932
Lite on dvd writer
WD 1 TB Cav black
win7 64

And now a few notes

I built the pc in the kitchen (no carpet and more space )

I put it all together turned it on Smelled the rotten smokey smell for a second could not tell where it was coming from and it went away fast but everything seemed fine.

Installed Several Drivers and windows 7 computer restarted several times did not smell it during the reboots

I then shut everything down and started routing my cables and hooked up some lights I booted pc to test them and smelled it again
Shut down looked for source nothing

Booted back up nothing finished up on my wires Installed the last of my case mods ( 4 small Cathodes)

Got me something to drink Rebooted system to install new keyboard (G110)
Smelled it again Shut it down booted up kids pc and posted here

Went back checked all connections again google searched cleaned off some thrmal paste over flow checked connections again

Booted up smelled fine all seemed to work fine

So i Shut down put doors on Pc and moved it to computer room hooked everything booted it up No smell

BUT NEW PROBLEM it only loaded 5 cores instead of 6 did another google search Flashed the Bios with the new one from asus site rebooted No Smell and all 6 cores..


Anyway after a few reboots i have noicted it only does it once its cooled off some

The pc has now been running non stop for 5 hours almost and here is what the Asus moniter than came with Mobo says

CpU 33 C
MB 25 C
NB 40C
SB 33 C

Have not had any errors or Crash's or smelled it anymore or heard any weird sounds

Any sorry for the TDLR just wanted to tell the people who tried to help if anyone has any more info let me know
