No, I'm reserving the HDMI port for my PS3, which I am planning to move away from my TV. Only problem is, the DVI cable provided by ASUS is too short.

Ugh... guess I will have to shell out another $10 for a longer DVI cable.

You could always use a little HDMI switcher. Goes back and fourth between PC and PS3. Check Monoprice. I know they had one

Doing some research on the Internet, it looks like I won't have to give up my VGA cable after all:

The monitor shipped with a defective EDID, so Windows couldn't determine the maximum screen resolution. However, using a program called Powerstrip, I was able to create a custom driver, install it, and use 1920x1080 as a native resolution over VGA. All my games work natively at 1920x1080 now - at least, the ones that support widescreen resolutions.
