Time to find a new CPU, Suggestions?

Thread Starter
My budget is $70-$80 now, I could push it up to $100 if I find the CPU to be the right investment. Preferably, it should be something that has more than 2 cores. In the end though, I just want something that is faster than the 245! I'm looking at purchasing the AMD Athlon II X3 445. Would this be a good upgrade? If you have a better CPU in mind, please, give me your opinion.

Hay, I would recommend something like an athlon 620, you can pick them up on ebay really nice and cheap, and also for a graphics card, a 5770, if you can push your budget more a gtx 460.

Thank you! I found a cpu that will work perfectly. Also, I would upgrade to a 460 card, but my board is AMD. So next month I will be getting another 4770 so I can run crossfire.

See if you can find a Phenom II X3 720 or 740. Three cores, fourth can be unlocked. Were selling under 90 OEM on Newegg, but I don't see them there anymore.
