The smoke doesn't move when he moves through it. It's not an effect. It's a simple visual. The cloth banners are the only acceptabe effect in the video. The breaking floor only works because the retarded motion of the broken tiles is hidden behind his big attention whore bat cape.
Sure physx is going to work and be realistic if you hire a 1000 magicians to teach you sleight of cape and hand moves to hide it's motions. Or if somehow you can make it so quick that you can't see it doesn't work at all like reality. IE the sled demo when it breaks the bridge or blows up the out house.

What I have is a cognitive bias. IE my brain has seen too many real phsics things happen and when I see it clumsily executed using stupid oversimplified gaussian particle models, it says THAT'S NOT RIGHT.

You got 3 seconds to get it right, 6 seconds if I'm amped up on adreneline.

I don't really understand why people complain so much about PhysX. It's a free future that comes with Nvidia cards lol. It's up to each individual to decide whether it's worth it or not. I think it's fairly good looking and adds an extra touch to the game; it's definitely not "insane", but it's there. But I agree, sometimes you probably won't even notice it.

I just came from a 768 460 overclock to 920/1840/2200(or so).. I would get the 6850. Every time I thought I solved stuttering/hitching issues they seemed to come back.

Every time the fps dropped from 60 to say 58 there would be this weird hitching in everything. With nVidia moving on to the 5xx series it doesn't look like they will fix it either.

Happy with the 6850, but plan on getting another one next month since they are so cheap now(got mine for 180 canadian). Only needed 1 6pin as well.

About PhysX. I have Batman AA, Mirrors Edge, and a few other PhysX games and never bothered screwing around with it. Wouldn't base a purchase on it. I prefer nVidia Inspector over Radeon Pro though as well as the control panel.

first of all this was a very rude question, you should have done the research before you ask what physx is...

and no its no gimmick.. too many AMD fanboys bash physx..it adds to the gaming experience... if you get the gtx460, then just MAKE SURE its the 1GB version, the 768 is utter crap.

personally after the price difference, i wouldn't bother with amd cards( specially after their crappy drivers from 5000 series.)

i had a 5850 before I got back to nvidia, the 6850 is a bit slower then the 5850. And once clocked the 460 can perform close to a 5850.

have had the hd5850, gtx460 and two gtx480. dont get the amd (yet).

Not a rude question, and I did research what it is, but that is why I put "exactly at the end of my question. I wanted to know if it was worth using it as a factor to what GPU to buy. I have got my hope up on a 460 that is on a auction....finger crossed!
