Thread Starter
Ok so I just built my friend a computer and I didnt want to put a graphics card in it because she doesnt game, she just does regular computer stuff.

problem is, I cant get any visuals by plugging the monitor into the vga on the motherboard panel, Is there a way to install it without using a graphics card?

motherboard is MSI g41m-p26

Thanks for any help

There is usually a way to enable/disable onboard video in the BIOS, by default it should output to the onboard port so you should be getting a signal. Try CMOS reset if theres a button or by NVRAM jumper.

On some monitors you have to manually change the input/output of your signal..unless you've already tried this.

turn pc off.
unplug power.

remove cmos battery, for a few mins.
replace battery.

power on and IMMEDIATELY tap del key to entert bios

go to advanced bios features/scroll to chipset...
HPET should be disabled
VGA Shared set to 64mb
save

Why it always happen with the new boards that you need to remove the CMOS battery and insert it back? very weird.
