Question: SLI or upgrade?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to upgrade my rig and I'm trying to decide whether to get a second card or upgrade my card.

Currently:

Q6600 @ 3.0
EVGA 780i mobo
EVGA GTX 275
EVGA GTS 260 (won this for free, I'm using it as a physX card)

So the question is:

Should I buy a second 275 (around $150) and SLI them, or should I upgrade to a single newer card, such as the GTX 570 (around $300)?

I suspect that SLI will give me more bang for the buck now, but I'm also taking into consideration what will be best in the future -- if I upgrade to a high-tier single card now I can SLI it a year or so from now and be good for 3 years-ish.

The 570. The GTX 275 is still a solid card, but it's not really current anymore. A 570 would provide you Directx 11 as well as futureproofing you some since you can always SLI later.

Don't know how accurate this is, but heres a bench between a 570 and a 280.

or a 2 460's for a little more if you find a deal and be as fast as a 580.

Cool, thanks a lot for the link Senator. It does look like the 570 would be a better deal. Obviously 580 would be better still but that extra 150-200 bucks really hurts. tongue.gif

@microman: Problem with that is the same with getting a second 275 now: I'm stuck and can't upgrade easily(unless I want to tri-SLI, which I'm a little wary of doing)
