Wow... two cards in a laptop? I say the 5870, due to it having dx11 support and not very outdated.

This compares the two, and although it's for desktop GPU's, the 5870 does considerably better, so id say go for the 5870.

The 5870Cf is better than 285sli... 6970m CF is the fastest mobile GPU setup I think.

The 5870 in Crossfire will be a much better set up. Does the Alienware use MXM II cards? If so, you can upgrade as time goes on

May I make a suggestion...Look into Saeger laptops. They are in my opinion better than Alienware and around the same price. http://www.sagernotebook.com/

Just a sick laptop. Is there enough computing power their to take advantage of crossfired 5870's?
Sick laptop and all but.

Decent Gaming laptop + a desktop beats 1 super high end prozor one
.

Oops, you have a good rig already. Mobile crossfire 5870s averages crossfired 5770 speed.
