Crucial Ballistix 1333 CL7 - use code DM15A02US and you get it for $34 shipped. Furthermore Crucial is Micron, so Micron ICs which are excellent for overclocking. (EDIT: Just realized this is sold out again - Team 1600 CL9 would be my next best choice for $44/$38.25 after promo) [though of course this is on budget]

Best 2x2GB RAM ever is usually SuperTalent with Elpida Hypers - but they're all out of stock. If you're looking for something specifically high-binned that can reach 1600 CL6-7, this is a good choice.

You might want to add mosfet heatsinks on your motherboard, 970 is a 125W processor therefore pushing the limits, and you have cooling that makes air skip the mosfet area completely.

These. - 8 cas latency and a lower voltage than those team 1600's. I'm sure you could also fine tune these with better times and get it down to 7 cas latency.

They're 1333, therefore a generic setting. Also priced poorly. 1333 CL8 kits are about as bad as 1333 CL9 kits. Being Ripjaws X it might be an exception though, i.e. different binning

Went with the Ripjaws you recommend..I was looking at those from the start so it works out..thanks
Edit: Woot gave you your 500th rep..I feel special haha. Also bought a RAM cooler, my case has really good airflow as it is but for 15 extra bucks you cant go wrong.

Wow, well below the predicted hitting 500 rep @ 7500 posts. I feel proud of myself all of a sudden Thanks!
RAM coolers are...well... unless for looks, really unnecessary with DDR3 until you start approaching 1.8V and above on D9 ICs or so.

Expensive RAM is a rip off. There's almost no real-world difference between CAS 9 latency RAM @1333MHz vs 2133MHz. Obviously, some low-end RAM is crap. That being said, I think these are worth looking at:

That Patriot Sector 5 1600MHz kit has gotten great reviews and G.Skill's ECO RAM has been known to over-clock great.

Uhh..... but most RAM we suggest are equivalent to 1333 CL9 kits.
And provide proof that 2133Mhz CL9 doesn't outperform 1333 CL9. This is AMD platform, the system feels much snappier with faster RAM and the differences are somewhat bigger, due to preference to lower timings and poor IMC performance scaling below 1600Mhz as I have observed.
