NVidia GTX 570 SLI Scaling

Thought you would like this...

Did a few tests today.

Here it goes...

Configuration

- P6T DELUXE V2
- Core i7 920 D0 @ 4.2Ghz HT OFF (1.28v)
- 6GB DDR3 OCZ CAS 7 @ 800Mhz
- NVidia EVGA GTX 570 SLI (266.58_desktop_win7_winvista_64bit_english_whql) - Stock (732/1900)
- ATI 5970 Black Edition (amd_catalyst_11.1a_win7_jan26_whql) - Overclocked to 850/1200
- Corsair HX1000W 80A
- SSD OCZ Vertex 2 60GB + 3 x Seagate 500GB (Raid 0)
- Windows 7 x64 Ultimate

All tests were run at 1920 x 1080 except 3D Mark Vantage/2011 Performance Preset.









Codemasters Dirt 2 - AA8X - Max Settings





SLI GAIN

Min. FPS: 62,04%
Avg. FPS: 74,95%

Codemasters F1 2010 - AA8X - Max Settings





SLI GAIN

Min. FPS: 40,35%
Avg. FPS: 45,9%

Street Fighter IV - 1920x1080 60Hz 8xAA - Max Settings

SCORE: 13382
AVERAGE: 203.08FPS

GTX 570 SLI

SCORE: 16609
AVERAGE: 266.53FPS

SLI GAIN

AVERAGE: 31,24%

Heaven Benchmark v2.1 - DirectX: 11 - Shaders: High - Tess: Extreme - Aniso: 16x - AA: 8x - 1920x1080





SLI GAIN

FPS: 94,54%
Min: 54,37%
Max: 106,02% (Ouch!)

3D Mark Vantage - Performance





SLI GAIN

3D SCORE: 59,30%
GPU SCORE: 70,48%
CPU SCORE: 0,73%

3D Mark 2011 - Performance





SLI GAIN

3D SCORE: 74,87%
GRAPHICS: 97,01%
PHYSICS: 0,72%
COMBINED: 51,6%

3D Mark 2011 - Extreme





SLI GAIN

3D SCORE: 80,34%
GRAPHICS: 88,96%
PHYSICS: 0,66%
COMBINED: 42,49%

Good reference materials. Here comes your first rep.

If you have time, I wish you can do a simple CPU scaling study as a companion test:
With 570 SLI, re-run those benchmarks above with your i7 920 @ stock 2.6, 3.0, 3.4, 3.8, 4.0, 4.2GHz and see how the curve behaves.

Once again, good job.
(Perhaps under Configuration, state the tested resolution (1920x1080) and make it more complete)

Very nice editorial with a pleasant layout. Thanks for the review, I've been thinking hard about picking up another 570 for SLI and this scaling seems very promising.

I'd love to see a Metro 2033 benchmark run if you ever get a chance as well

Nice job thanks for sharing the data.

PS you'll get better scaling in Vantage if you use a higher preset like High or Extreme ... Performance mode gets a little bottlenecked w/all that GPU power
