I just hold the ps3 controller in my left hand, using the left analog for movement, and map actions, to my mouse, and L1 button on controller. It gives me fluid movement, with great accuracy.

I wish there was some kind of gamepad/joystick hybrid that existed. Something that had the joystick in the middle and keys around it. Or just closer to where your thumb naturally is. The joystick on the G13 is pretty unusable for me as I have smaller hands; it's in an awkward position.

Either that or I just got to suck it up and learn WASD. I don't know why it's such an ordeal for me as I did play WoW for over 3 years. But there was no crouching or sprinting in that game. Plus it's easier to move around in a third person game like that where you don't have to have your screen aimed at whatever you want to kill.

I'm sure you're a console veteran, but it helps to go back to basics if you're lost. =P

There's your problem. Playing with a keyboard and mouse is rather difficult after coming from a controller. Just give it some time, I had the exact same problem when I came from my xbox.

im not a gamer. never was. and dont even play games but since i see this thread in main, im gonna add what hasnt been said and what worked for me when i mastered this one fps.

1. mimic the pros:
i even went to the extent of making rooms just to spectate and watch how the pros play...
some pros are very predictable and very beatable.
find out what hardware pros use and what advantage it gives them. try get close to what they have..

2. learn the map: even if it means just going on training mode and learn the map and respawn areas. get creative throwing grenades in training mode.
youtube videos.

2. dont be too aggressive:
play like your part of a team accomplishing the mission instead of just trying to get kills.
dont walk in open areas which will expose you.. fps is not like a racing game where its safe being in the middle of the road.
It shouldnt take you to be blasted 5 times running into fire or someone to realize your doing something wrong.

3. learn to use grenades and other items like smoke...
get the right armor. make sure you have the right weapons and they work right.

5. learn game/commands:
watch the chat. there might be guys giving heads up.
chat and give your team mates heads up.
learn the commands that show the map and where u r in relation to the action and mission and see who's putting in work and who's slacking. and try cover..
look at the make up of the other team vs yours and see what position your team needs..
think ahead.
focus on the mission.. dont chat or cry too much ingame.

6. try diffferent weapons ingame:
different weapons can give different advantages in different areas. teamwork. if your sniper gets shot pick up the sniper before he comes back. if your team is coordinated he might just come back as a different position while u hold it down... a well coordinated team with everyone playing their positions and covering can make the game really enjoyable.

7. while your dead click on different players and see what they're doing planning your next respawn.

8. tweak your settings. what worked for me was highest mouse settings so i could turn quick.
get a comfortable on your seat.

enjoy the game:
FAIR PLAY, NO CHEATING. DONT INSULT OTHER PLAYERS. even as a pro understand there will always be noobs and learn to play with noobs. dont smash your monitor coz a noob just stepped infront of you and made you blow yourself with the grenade launcher lol.

i hated it when pros all wanted to be in the same stacked teams against noobs. what's the fun in that?
die for the team if that's what's gonna take for your team to go ahead if your team needs that extra second.

Shozz basically took the words out of my mouth, except for coming back from the xbox. I either solely played PC, or played both at the same time; I never left my beloved computer

I'll beat the dead horse one more time. Don't despair. Give yourself some time. It's perfect that you realize what's wrong, which is the first step to fixing it. Don't beat yourself up too much about it either; unnecessary stress is unnecessary.

i think pc gamers are more hardcore than a casual console player. That is probably why you are having a tough time.
