Rate my budget gaming build!

Thread Starter
I had to sell the PC in my sig a few months ago and now I have some cash to get a new setup started...this are the parts I bought:

-Silverstone Olympia 750 watt PSU
-G.SKILL F3-10666CL7D 4GB RAM
-Asus M4A88T-V EVO/USB3 AMD3 DDR3 ATX 880G Mobo
-AMD Athlon II X4 640 CPU
-Corsair A70 heatsink
-Coolermaster HAF X (Christmas present)

I am going to use the onboard video for a couple months until I can grab a decent graphics card. How's the build?

You don't need the A70. Are you overclocking? A Hyper 212+ is unbeatable for the price/performance.

I'm sure you can get some better ram. How about this?

Edit, just realized you already bought the parts..

Athlon II X4 640 is a great cpu

and the Corsair A70 heatsink seems like over kill for it

Pretty good except I don't see a hard drive. Also, 750watts is way more power than you need, even if you get a single graphics card later down the road. Although the A70 performs really well you could've gotten a cheaper CPU cooler and spent the money on a better CPU. Everything else looks good.

I don't understand why you would post this thread after you've bought everything, unless you plan to return a couple items, because any critiques or recommendations that fellow OCNers can give you will be useless since you've already bought everything.

For example:
Hyper 212+ over A70 to save money.

and

Get a cheap 550-600w OCZ power supply over the SilverStone. Even with a high end graphics and a Athlon II x4, it won't suck up more than 550-600w in single card configurations. Plus, you would of been able to save some money over the Olympia. $95 on Directron vs ~$50 after rebate 600W StealthXStream II

Not really
My friend hit a wall at below 3.5Ghz on Athlon II x4 640. Not a very good CPU for overclocking at all.
The RAM is fine, could be better but it's okay at least. Can probably reach 1600 8-8-8 even.
A70 is just fine, often it's found at same price or better than 212+ now (especially with 212+ being upwards of $30 at Newegg and very poor priced/ripoff by being so)
Hyper 212+ is not unbeatable at all unless it's $20, and I can get it for $20 at my local comp store regularly. I don't think you'll ever get prices for Hyper 212+ like that in US anytime soon.

I could push mine further but my board won't let me.
