Would a mouse pad improve FPS accuracy? - Page 2

I personally always used to use the wood top on my desk. Right now all I have is a glass tabletop so I had to buy one due to laser not reflecting off the glass properly. I have noticed no gain or loss in targetting accuracy or ease of mouse use.

Get new teflon feet and a mousepad, It's a great addition to mouse accuracy.

frown.gif I know........... I am a heavy gamer and I dont own any good mouse-pad....
WHY? cause the good ones cost almost as much as a cheap cpu around here mad.gif . stupid place for pc peripherals and the bloody customs/government doesnt allow online traders like newegg. m doomed.......

A good mouse is no replacement for skill or practise, and my personal preference is for a mouse that is exceedingly comfortable to use.

Alot is personal preference but there are mousepads which are better for accuracy. Lemme define accuracy in the way I am about to use it. Accuracy in fps: being able to hit a target constantly and consistently.
Some mousepads make having good accuracy harder on you. Mousepads which have very little friction tend to let player overshoot or be less accurate. The opposite can also be true, mousepads with a lot of friction may give you control but you may no be able to be consistent with your flick shots or 90 and 180 shots.

Id recommend a cloth mousepad like the Qck which has enough friction for control but not too much to be a burden like perhaps the NP.
Or you can try a plastic mousepad if your mouse skates can handle it and you can handle a bit less friction.

in my opinion mouse pad is... a PAD for the mouse. soft surface so that the mouse wont get damaged when you move it quickly and lift it up and down to do quick movements. I dont really think that it has that great of an affect on accuracy. Having a smooth mouse pad will help with precise movements and prevent jerky ones.

Hard textured mousing surfaces are nice

I just bought one of these after my friend recommended it to me. He's had his for four years and counting and hasn't had any issues with it whatsoever. We compared the new one to his old one and they both look exactly the same. Really says something, especially for a $25 mousepad. I don't play FPS's often but I have definitely noticed an improvement in my Dawn of War 2 gameplay. I would HIGHLY recommend a Ratpadz XT. I don't know if it is still going on but I got mine for $20 a few days ago. Worth a shot to see if it is still on sale.

Yeah but every mouse pad is different and transit a different feeling while gaming. I had a xactmat by Razer which i loved, I love my mouse ot feel like it's on ice and to slide around like crazy. I've switched to a Steelseries Qck but it's not smooth enough for me and I find my performance in Games has actually dropped a fair bit. There's more then there appears to be with mousepads.
