Water cooling not helping. :(

Thread Starter
I just got a water cooling kit. Its not keeping up with the heat that my I7 makes. My pump is 72L/hr my water lines are 1/4inch. now thinking about just upgrading my water block or pump or both? If you had to just pick on up grade what would it be. Thinking about up grading my hole water cooling and putting it on my wifes pc. But for now what do you guys think would be best.
950 specs are: idle is 50c playing black opps for 2hrs go up to 85c
950 is over clocked to 4.2 with 1.39v

You got the larkoolr kit didn't you? the water pump is extremely weak and is worse then if you were to just buy an H50.

If you want a real kit that will give you actual water cooling performance go with an XSPC Rasa kit.

that would more then cool your system.

You might need to reseat your CPU and install some TIM on it

Yeah, go get a Rasa kit. The RS240 kit should be enough.

Also, dont forget TIM, and check to see if the plastic is still on the bottom of the CPU block...

I was going to build a kit based off that pump. I think i will just go with that kit then. My build was over $340.00 that i had picked out.

I really want to know. the kit you have now, is it that stupid larkoolr kit?

72L/H is horrible. The rasa pump is like in the middle of the flow rates, and it does 750L/H.

I'd put that back in your old rig and build a custom loop for the new one. Do your research and pick out some stuff. Just post it up so we can help you before you throw down some more money in cooling.

In order to upgrade the kit you would need a new pump, rad, and block...basically new everything. The kit you have is not designed nor able to cool the Watts output by high end components.
