WD Caviar Green 2Tb okay for raid 1?

Thread Starter
building a low power htpc/media server and i'm planning on starting with 2x2tb hard drives in raid 1. all i hear is blah blah blah caviar greens suck for raid but with raid 1 does it really matter?

which green 2tb should i choose? same price, but i feel like more people are complaining about the newer version with 64MB cache

No it doesn't matter. The larger cache won't be that big a help to you. The problems people have had in the past were firmware issues. And even then it was hit or miss. You should be able to raid them just fine.

It has to deal with TLER. I'm no raid expert, but unless you're using software raid and a 3rd drive for the OS I would not do it with these. Theres a wealth of google on this subject.

Didn't read through all of these, but here's a start.
