I usually recommend 3+1 for 95W processors without overclocking. I like running my stuff to the brink of stability and this setup has been running flawlessly for almost 6 months at 3.8ghz unlocked. I've added mosfet heatsinks and also actively cool them.
But honestly I am not too worried about the board dying. It would give me a good reason to upgrade to a high end AM3 board
This is my secondary rig and I can afford to have it blow up lol.
