Missing Start Menu Items

Thread Starter
I just realized that I'm missing folders/programs under "All Programs". I checked the /Program Data/Microsoft/Windows/Start Menu folder and there missing there too. I'm not sure how this could have happened, the programs missing are ones I've used recently and have no uninstalled.

Just to be a little more clear, so far the only programs I've noticed missing are BOINC and RivaTuner. Really, there's so much stuff there I can't just skim through it and try to think what's missing. It doesn't seem like a lot more (if anything else is) is missing.

Noticed that CCleaner's start menu folder is also missing.

I'll try running a virus scan and see the result in the morning, but any other possible ideas?

U check the recycle bin?

Used a "cleaning" program lately, like CCleaner?

Let children or computer iliterate/ignorant people use your machine lately?

Could always do a Restore.

I like Win7's Restore better than XP. Much smoother and quicker.

Yes, I've used CCleaner recently. But I can't imagine it removing those (even though I know it's possible). I've used CCleaner for years now and I've never had it do something like this. But I guess there's always a first time.

No one else uses my computer.

A restore isn't really necessary. The computer still works fine. It restarted just fine. It's just that somehow some folders got deleted from the start menu.
