I never saids anything about response time differences, but the dA for what ever reason at 1000 dpi feels completely different then at 500 dpi.

Driver reinstall didn't help?

I had to actually uninstall the drivers and install them again to fix it, i didn't have an extra mouse so i couldn't change the settings lol so i just put the cd in the drive and used tab/enter to reinstall. ahah I suppose i could see if there are any updates for a possible fix

it doesn't make the mouse perform worse, and it really doesn't use much in terms of ram.

SetPoint is actually quite solid and definitely does not make the mouse perform "worse".

As far as utilization of resources--nowadays the amount it uses to keep the mouse at high performance is negligible and I would not worry about it as you will not notice it.
