[SH]Yes, The Khan Academy IS the Future of Education (video)

Sal Khan does a very thorough job of explaining the ways in which the Khan Academy website takes its 2000 videos and expands them into a complete set of lessons, test exercises, and evaluations...

The impact that the Khan Academy could have on the classroom is enormous. As Sal discusses in the video (8:10) they are already performing trials to see how teachers can use the KA platform to improve the way they track and help their students. With the Khan Academy, teachers would “intervene only when a student is stuck.†In other words, the KA is supplementing the education paradigm in such a way that teachers are only needed as corrective influences. They’ll be tutors more than lecturers.

This sounds like it really could become the future of education if it expands even more and receives support. Hopefully we see more alternate teaching like this in the near future.

Khan Academy shouldn't replace education and teachers. Nothing compares to sitting in an actual lecture. I use Khan Academy for reinforcement and reference but not to replace a class.

Yeah, because teachers are SOOOO lazy right right now. Nothing like going to college so you can work a good 12 hours a day dealing with ungrateful brats just to live in poverty!! Teaching is about the last job I ever want because teachers do way too much work for the money

You should come to my school then, the instructors here dont do ****, they literally. For example one instructor gave us a 20 page paper we had to t, then we all got it back saying 100%, every single person, even people who only did like 5 pages, he said he didnt have the time to grade them so he jsut gave everyone a 100%, that above all things pissed me off the most since i had to do so much work for those 20 pages. Many teachers are very lazy
