My PC is freezing...

Not in a good way though.
When i play COD 4:MW after about 20 minutes the screen freezes and this horrible noise comes through my headphones. I have to hard shut down as every function is completely frozen. My temps are very good throughout game play as I leave my dual gpus on max fan speed. On other games i experience this hang up to. The spec's in my sig below aren't what I currently have.. I heard this RAM was an awful choice for this rig I recently built, and i fear it is the problem.

I have an Asus sabertooth tuf series mobo
i5 760
gts 450 2 way sli
this is my ram
http://www.patriotmem.com/products/d...&id=858&type=1
I am running windows 7 professional 64-bit
Also, my cooling is sufficient as i have the Coolermaster haf 932.
Thank's oc

EDIT: I have looked into this more and COD seems to have problems like this alot. I also updated punk buster as this fixed the problem for some people, but it still didn't work after updating.

I'd run memtest86+ overnight and see if it's a RAM issue.

-------------------------------------------
For errors w/ memtest86+
-------------------------------------------
- Go into BIOS and make sure that all the RAM settings are correct. DRAM voltage, timings, speed.
- If the above doesn't fix it, it could possibly be bad or incompatible RAM, or even an issue stated below @ No errors w/ memtest86+.

-------------------------------------------
No errors w/ memtest86+
-------------------------------------------
- Move onto other stress tests like prime95 or LinX. Any errors with this could mean too low of a voltage with either the CPU, or another voltage on the motherboard. Auto settings aren't always perfect, with my motherboard I had to take my CPU PLL off auto and manually set it to the correct value to get stable on STOCK.
- If the above doesn't fix it, then it's more than likely a driver/software issue.

General note, a junky/no name power supply or a power supply that doesn't have enough amperage for the +12V rail or wattage could cause the same issues, as it seems it's only when the system is under a decent amount of stress. It would help us if you listed what power supply you have as well.

As I previously said, not touching the BIOS settings could be the issue in itself, as I had to take a setting off AUTO to get my PC stable on stock settings. Most builds do not go along perfectly.

Well I had the same problem with battlefield bad company 2. It would freeze and a constant beep noise from speakers. Turned out comparability issues with sound card that was causing the whole pc to freeze. Try running the game as an admin, that fixed it for me.

Had this issue with E8400 and GTX 260 in my buddy's home. He was running windows XP. Turned out, he needed a driver for the monitor.

I had problems very similar where I would lock up. When playing fallout:new vegas, I would lock up and get a very high pitch sound. Turned out, mine was a case of unstable overclock. Just had to mess around a bit to get the settings right.

No. I have had these problems with an old pc with GTX 260s in SLI and a q6700. But I really only experience hang ups with COD 4. *but have had hang ups with other games a few times.. It could very well be the clocks.. I just threw all this stuff together and haven't fooled at all with the OCs cause I've just been fed up with the failure of my old PC and now this one. I would like some help though if someone would be so kind.
