I don't care if its Nvidia or ATI ( yes ati not and dagnabbit!) . I was thinking a 570 or a 6970, But I don't really know. I didn't want to upgrade I was really happy with my 5850 Xfire

Howbout a 6950 and then unlock to a 6970?

It's a really cheap option if you can get a good price by selling the 5850 that's not borked.

RMA not an option the card that died was purchased during the great Tiger direct debauckle where they advertised a 1 year warranty but then after about a metric ton were sold the site was updated to show a 90day i ran around with them on the phone for a week but decided to keep the card le sigh!

Are the 6950 still unlocking is it a crapshoot or almost guaranteed ?

Bad luck with that warranty there mate

And the last I heard the 6950s are unlocking like a charm.

You will be downgrading if you just went with one 570 or 6970. Since you like your CF setup why not RMA? (unless you are out of warranty)

Cant you get a munufacturers warranty? You should have at least a year its law.

Just contact the manufacturer of your card, xfx or sapphire of whatever directly as thats what the store would have done if they where issuing a warranty, they just claim it back from the manufacturer I belive. Dont accept your card breaking inside of a year thats rediculous!

Lol I also refuse to call their new cards AMD, will always be ATI.

Personally I'm doing GPU upgrades at Nvidia Kepler.
