People that are overclocking these chips but use manual voltage may as well disable everything else because when your chip goes back down to 1.6 GHz idle it will still be at whatever you set your voltage at so that won't decrease. So you aren't really saving as much power as it was designed to.

If they had it set up like where at idle I could set a manual voltage and at load I could set a different manual voltage then that would be awesome. Then I could set like 1v at idle @ 1.6 GHz and then 1.4v at load @ 4.8 GHz.
You can actually do that, but you have to enable turbo

Use the following options:
Turbo Enabled
c1e enabled
c6 enabled
c3 enabled
LLC: DISABLED (very important)
Vcore mode: Offset
Get to desired voltage by adjusting the offset.

The results should be 0.997 volts at idle with 1600Mhz cpu clock, and at load it will be your desired clock speed/voltage. However, my experience with that shows that when it's NOT at 100% load, like browisng websites or some games, it tends to overvolt it a bit more than your lod voltage, say you set it so it does 1.4v during prime95 (load) it can go up to 1.42 while doing mundane tasks.

To be honest tho, whether it idles at 1.38v or 0.997v, as long as all power saving options are enabled, it should be at the same idle temperature and idle power draw, that has been my experience on the Biostar TP67XE.

That is what I thought as well... but nearly every i7-920/GTX 580 result I looked at was similar.

11k+ GPU scores vs. a comparable Sandy Bridge system running about half that.

Its broken reporting then, a gtx 580 isn't over twice as strong as a gtx 470.

Despite double the price, it doesn't work that way.

Those are SLI results.

Just look at the first i7 920 result http://3dmark.com/3dm11/257881

Its not even close to hitting the graph, 6400 is the average score.

This is what I got at 5GHz, 930 core on a gtx 470.

Another thing that is weird is that many of the results seem to be submitted at 12/22 at 12 AM.

See with only 200mhz more Bella your physics score is way better, must be something wrong with my system.

Whats your ram at?

Remember it's 200 x 4 too, not just 200 Though something else my be holding you back...

What are your temps? And is your overclock prime/folding stable?

If the file wasn't so huge and my connection wasn't so lame I would download it to give you something to compare against.

My GPU score would suck though because I am still stuck on this crappy 8800GT until I get my 560.

Ok I get P6003 with Q9550 @ 4.3GHz and GTX480 @ 850/1025MHz which is about 200 Pts faster in Graphic score than STOCK GTX580..

Now on your score everything looks OK but the last 6th Combined benchmark score where you get 26FPS same as I do on Q9550 which doesn't make sense..

And that's why you have a very low Combined score = 5700 just like I do on my LGA775 setup which humpers your overall score..

My guess either it's a drivers issue or unstable CPU OC as I know from experience that the last Combined benchmark doesn't tolerate any kind of unstability and tend to crash very easy or to perform low..

CHEERS..

It runs 26 runs intel burn test stable (I couldn't be bothered going to 50)

My ram is at 1333mhz 7-7-7-20 at the moment.

Lin packs don't really hit the sandy bridge weak spot... You'll want to prime blend at least a few hours to ensure a stable overclock... 3D Mark doesn't use floating point, and thats all you're really stressing with lin packs.

Ram is pretty low, if you're benching you'll want to bring that up a lot.
