i7 950 + GTX570 + 6GB DDR3-1600 CL8 = More than you would have expected!

CPU - Intel core i7-950 - $199
http://www.microcenter.com/single_pr...uct_id=0346210
Mobo - GIGABYTE GA-X58A-UD3R - $210
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-423-_-Product
GPU - GTX570 - $400
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.592975
RAM - PNY XLR8 6GB DDR3-1600 CL8 - $70
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-271-_-Product
PSU - Antec TruPower 750w - COMBO
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.592975
Case - Rosewill Blackbone Black Steel - $35
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-023-_-Product
HDD - Samsung Spinpoint F3 500GB - $50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-181-_-Product
DVD - LG Black 24X DVD+R 8X - $17

This will put you over budget by $50-$100 but the extra horsepower with a GTX570 & i7-950 will be totally worth it.

Solid i7 build if you can, but id say take a 560 over the 6950.

Thread Starter
The microcenter isn't that close so I'll probably just stick with the 955.

So far I'm leaning towards something like this:

CPU + Mobo $228:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.592296
GPU + PSU $400:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.592975
Ram $45 (35 AR):
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820220436
HD $65:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822152185
Case $100:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129021
DVD $17:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136177

Total should be $855. Shipping says $1.

Is there anything I should switch out or anything that might be incompatible? I'm still unsure about the case and ram.

Looks splendid to me, I believe you're going to love it personally.

Edit: My laptop died right in the middle of my Post shocked that got posted ANYWAYS.

That RAM will work and will do a splendid job as the only requirement of the motherboard is that the RAM must be DDR3 you could pay more for RAM but it will do the same thing as each component is made differently and there is no way to tell what you may get, an egg or a turd. If you're looking for more ram i suggest this.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820178271

Now onto your case, I personally find it hard to justify that price on the Antec 900 unless it were the 902 then we'd be golden but thats just me I think its a fabulous case for $80 AR. But I believe BestBuy is selling the Antec 902 for $70 still I"D DEFINITELY call and check that out because for $70 the 902 is unbeatable imo.

But any of the cases any has suggested or the Antec 900/2 will work just that in the upper $100 price range there are better cases to be had my Original post I believe has about 7 cases i'd HIGHLY recommend with greatness or the case XD has suggested below me will work wonders as well. Just as long as the case doesn't depress you since you have to look at it everyday you're going to do and be fine.

And make sure you include a CPU Cooler if you plan on Overclocking your CPU at all the CoolerMaster Hyper 212+ is UNBEATABLE at its $30 price range.

Replace 900 with something cheaper that actually has decent cable management (aka NZXT Tempest EVO $90 shipped) and we're golden!
Can also save $5 on F3 1TB here

We literally made the same build, save for the case and ram, it looks pretty golden.
