How do you: Mount fans to the radiator?

Thread Starter
Does anyone have any pictures? I have GentleTyphoons and I tried using the screws they provided but I think I'm doing something wrong. There are 2 holes on each side of the fan and I try to put it in the little hole but the screw head is too big.

Anyone have any idea?

What kind of radiator is it? The most common sizes are 6-32 and M4. Sounds like you have the wrong screw size for the radiator. Both radiators I have came with the correct screws for 25mm thickness fans but had to buy some longer ones for 38mm fans.

You need a longer screw to go through both holes in the fan. I believe the size is 6-32 and just make sure they are long enough, little longer than 25mm.

You can pick up 6-32 x 1-1/4 bolts from lowes/home depot for under $2. They'll fit 25mm fans.

You will need to use either the screws that came with your radiator, or screws that you go out and purchase to fit your radiator (6/32 x 1-1/4 is pretty common size however, not all radiators use that same thread). What you don't want to do is use the screws that come with the fans.

You need to use washers with 1-1/4" bolts or else you will puncture the radiator.

Another good place is Radio shack (They had pack of 45 screws for $2.00) they also had 30 matching sized nuts for another $2.00. For me the 45 screws were cheaper this way then home depot or lowes. Hope this may help!
