Nobody told me, I was just assuming since they have mostly solid panels on either side of them.

The only time you really need to make sure a hard drive has direct airflow is when using something like an old school WD VelociRaptor. Thanks. I have a couple Seagate Barracude drives sitting in an external eSATA dock right now because my curent case has no room for them, and they get pretty hot. I think it might be because I sometimes run games off of them. Maybe I just need to buy another SSD for game installations only.
