GTX 570 oc'ing question?

Thread Starter
I have 2 570s at stock speeds right now, if I OC each one to lets say 900mhz, how much more FPS would I gain in SLI? At 900, how much % increase would I see opposed to them at stock?

900mhz? There seems to be problems when you start adding voltage to these cards. As for how many fps you will get increased it's dependent on where you end up with your cards. it also depends on the game. some games might give you 4fps extra while others may give you as much as 10fps added.

here is a really good review on the 570 and should give you plenty of info.

If you are gaming you wont even notice the fps difference on your monitor. For benchmarking I'm not sure. Just dont bios edit the card to go past 1.1 volts or turn off over current protection. Odds are your card will fry.

900MHz can be achieved with 1.1v with high fan speeds which will still be quieter than any comparable 69xx series.

That's not a problem.

People need to read that thread about 570s dying before posting crap about the 570. It's only when you turn off OCP and pump over 1.1v into the card that you start to have problems.

Keep it under that and your card will run fine.

BTW getting over 850 core makes up the difference between the 570 and the 580.

@ 850MHz I only get 65*C at gaming load running Metro 2033 for a few hours.

It's not like these cards are ready to spontaneously combust with an overclock.

So people aren't lying when they say the 570 can literally be overclocked to equal a 580, lol. Too bad u can't add more cudacores as easily as overclocking the CC, lol

Yeah unfortunately there is no way to add more cores.

But @ 850-875 core you match stock 580 performance. It could be closer to 900 core. But I've seen a benchmark where I personally bested a 580 which was at stock. But his x6 processor was not overclocked.

Psh. A win in a win. Although I am looking to Step Up to a 580 within the next month unless the 590 comes out and doesn't require a stupid power supply.

But the argument means nothing since you can simply overclock that 580 to 825mhz and pull ahead of the 570 OC. Lol.

Yeah, but let's be honest here, I already went thru the whole 570/580 dilemma n I find it humerous how people argue over 5 FPS, think about it, 5 FPS isn't even noticeable by the naked eye, if there wasn't such thing as benchmarking or a way to monitor frames u couldn't tell the difference in gameplay between the 570, 580 and 6950/70....im more than happy with my dual 570s! They devour and rape anything I throw at it, nothing has brought my 570s to there knees yet, not even metro, it runs as smooth as silk, no lag.or stutter or glitchiness in anyway..... the 570 is godlike! I just didn't wanna spend 1000$ on video cards when I can get the same performance for less.

In most games, I get around 5-6FPS added from 732 --> 900mhz. Not really much of an increase so I am not concerned about how well my cards overclock except during benchmarking.
