Idk the HAF X just doesn't look as cool as the 1200 plus there have been mobo issues with that case

Opppssss.... sorry bro. That comment was meant for sockpirate. I will agree though... HAF X looks rugged more than anything else. Not sure about mobo issue though but I will keep that comment in mind if/when I do decide finally to make a switch.

Love the look of that Murderbox. Looks like a lot of time and effort went into it, and they fixed most of what I don't like about the TJ-07. It's really making me reconsider my planned FT-02 air-cooled setup and go for water cooling in a TJ-07.

I will never understand why cases have so many drive bays on the front of them. Most people won't need more than two openings. That's not to say that the bays inside aren't useful, but externally I don't see most people needing more than two. It would be nice if manufacturers started to realise this, or perhaps offered alternate fronts for cases.

I also can't understand why there are so few companies doing rotated motherboards. the flipped motherboard seen in the murderbox seems to make a lot of sense for watercooling, and a 90° rotated board makes a lot more sense for air cooling. (water cooling too, but it's less important there)

Have always been a fan of the VoodooPC Omen. It's better than anything Apple have come up with even. (actually I think their Mac Pro towers are quite ugly, though a lot of their other hardware design is nice) Was this model ever released?

I don't think it had the best looking internal design, but it was very well thought out with a radiator at the bottom, enclosed pump & water-cooled power supply at the rear and vertically mounted hot-swap drive bays that didn't even need you to put rails on the drives.

It's what the FT-02 wishes it could be.

The Omen is the pinnacle of computer cases, but unfortunately nobody was willing to pay $3000 for it. frown.gif

Maybe someday someone will ask me to reproduce one for him/her. Hah!

they rv01 was first showcase around the same time as the omen's release. independent but parallel thinking explains it

Actually, the Omen was built by Silverstone for Voodoo PC. Supposedly only 30 were made at a cost of $2k each.

That explains a lot then. $2k! eek.gif

I wonder what it would cost if they tried to use a similar design for a mainstream case rather than using 8mm thick aluminium everywhere.

It's a real shame that the FT-03 has gone in a completely different direction from previous cases, and the RV-03 is very ugly. I really do think Silverstone are onto something with the 90° rotated design, but they haven't quite perfected it yet, and their latest generation of case designs has been more-or-less universally awful.

I actually think the Corsair 700D is probably the most comparable case to the Omen that we have today, with clean lines rather than the curves of the FT-02. (In some ways, I actually prefer the RV-02 to the FT-02) Of course, they would have to switch to 90° rotated internals for me to consider buying one. It's a nice looking case, but doesn't seem very well thought-out internally.
