Corsair Vengeance reliable for a SB build?

Thread Starter
I'm building my Sandy Bridge build in early May, I have all the parts set up and everything, just waiting for money.

As far as ram goes,

I was going to use this: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231335

But I just saw a review on these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-144-_-Product

8GBs rather than 6, cheaper for more memory, same voltage.

However I'm not too great with RAM, and I'm not sure if this is a reliable kit. Anyone have experience?

Thanks.

The 8gb CL9 kit is compatible with Sandy Bridge. The 6gb kit is for older x58 platforms.

So the Vengeance will work fine with a SB build/mobo?
why were you even considering a triple channel kit for a dual channel platform?

and most ALL DDR3 should work fine in SB. Corsair almost never has problems as well.

Like I said in the OP, I really don't know too much about RAM. And I was told any DDR3 would work with a SB mobo, so I chose the G.Skill.

Based off of your replies, apparently the Vengeance is fine. So I think I'll be going with them.

Thanks for your feedback.

yes, DDR3 is DDR3 and usually works unless its from a funky brand who use in-compatible SPD tables (AKA STT)

sorry if I came off a little mean in my last post...

Nope, it's fine man, no offense taken.

I was just really excited when I found the price of this kit, it's cheap for 8GBs imo! Happy it'll work well!

Cheers.
