So after being on this forum for the last couple of years and seeing countless threads about ic7 i finally pulled the trigger. I bought 7gram tube from SVC a couple weeks back along with some fans. Before i applied the thermal compound a ocn member told me do the normal bead method but allow it to sit for 10minutes. So i applied a nice 5-5.5gram bead in the middle of the cpu and then went to check the mail. After letting it sit for 10minutes i could start to actually see the thermal compound become looser (thought that was pretty odd). I snuggly put on the stock intel heatsink and started up my sandy bridge. It was idle around 50-51c after running for more than 5minutes. Today i opened up core temp and my temps have dropped down to 37-39c depending on the core. I can believe in two weeks after the compound has set i have a 10c drop! This stuff is amazing i am never using another thermal compound again!
