In the future yes I will be going SLI with 580s.

And bl1nk, I have looked there a bit, to be honest, I just really don't quite understand what the 12v rail is, voltage, required and all that despite how much I read on it.

You don't need so much power, a quality 750W should suffice.

In which case, I'd go with the 1Kw as it's GOLD certified and will meet your every need . However, it is still a bit overkill tbh. I'm going with an 850w when I get my second 570

I'd rather go a bit overkill than underkill!

+rep! Thanks for the help! Gotta make sure I can power 2 oc'd 580s (only 1 for now though), getting my 950 up to 4.0 ghz and some ram (motherboard says 1600 is OC, so I guess that counts as OC!).

If you plan on Sli, a 900w will be enough. But it wouldn't be bad to have more than what you need.

Get the CM 1kW, higher-end CM PSUs are of very high quality unlike their lower-end models.

850w is ample for two GTX 580's, any more than that is a pointless waste of money. Are you limited to microcenter?

850W should be more than enough to power two 580's. You could run a GTS 450 as a PhysX card with it too.
