Crysis 2 Leak, Blame the Pirates? - Page 9

Pirates dont leak games... They just spread them around the web, or they create cracks so games can be played without buying them....

The problem here is clearly in Crytek, you dont "loose" a copy of an unreleased game....

A car dealership gives you the means too test drive the car, you don't just walk onto the lot and jump in the thing do you? If you went to buy a car and the guy said "sorry we don't offer test drives" would you not take your business somewhere else? Same goes for games. If the company doesn't offer a demo and you don't feel comfortable buying the game without trying it......DON'T BUY IT.

Please don't accuse me of defending anyone, I am defending the idea of a free market and personal responsibility.
Except you can go elsewhere, and test drive/buy the exact same car. Analogies with physical property are going to be tough to use since the monopoly is with one single item.

Same applies to the moron (not calling you a moron) who wrote that article.

There's that old story about three people on a camping trip. They get lost, their food supply is dwindling. One camper decided it'll hurt nobody if he helps himself to a little extra. The second camper thinks the same. Likewise for the third. They end up with no food left because their individual acts of petty theft combined to create one large dent in the supply.
Somehow a copy of the game disappears each time someone downloads it...

There are loads of games with huge expectations that turned out to be poo. I'm not gonna go buying crap games and then find out they suck. The others just dont get the support. For example Splinter Cell Conviction, the online mode simply doesn't work. A waste of money :|

The only thing you can do is not buy the game. Don't trust the developers, and wait for reviews.

Pirating it for a "demo" is just wanting to get what you want without following rules. There really isn't a way around that, you don't have any "right" to getting the game in the first place, so you don't have any "right" to a demo, or anything at all.

Edit - Oh look, it's THOSE images again

Yeah I think their stock would argue that.

To your second point....hugh? How are they forcing people to download a pre release beta? Its there "problem" it was leaked for sure, but last time I checked Crytek isn't in peoples rooms with guns pointed at peoples heads telling them to download the leak.

Again you are the consumer, let your voice be heard through your money. If you don't get a demo don't buy the game.

The truth of the matter is most games don't get demo's anymore because they found it actually hurts sales and does nothing to help them. People who intended to buy it usually do so, people who where on the fence.......

I'm not saying it isn't dirty pool but again they care about the bottom line, so they are going to do everything legally possible to sell you the game. Its your job as a consumer to see through the bs and make an informed choice.

So they pretty much have no idea how to make money Only a retard would buy some game that he has no clue about.. it's like me buying Battlefield 3 without checking out the beta... yeah right

U say games don't get demos anymore because it actually hurts their sales? Well okay then, people are going to pirate this thing to the max, let's see how much that is going to hurt.

What makes me think people are going to pirate it? Well.. this game is just a stupid eye candy where we test our hardware... the multiplayer is worse than all COD bs combined together, no1 cares about it.

All of this reminds me of COD fans... they just go and buy ANYTHING that includes "Call of Duty" without even checking it out in one way or another... people like them made it so that we don't get any DEMOS, companies now think they can just throw it out there and get their moneys.. yeah no.

MP makes piracy pretty pointless IMO, especially on FPS. Getting to check out a game early is fine but it won't change the fact thats its only half a game without MP, and the boring half at that.
