Worker stopped? I'm stumped.

Hey fellas, I'm back (sadly).

So I had my system super stable at 3.5Ghz on stock 1.375v. I had 1x4gb single channel 9-9-9-24-27-1t. Everything ran as smooth as glass. Then, I wanted more ram, so I bought another stick of Corsair XM3 1333mhz, and now its 2x4Gb in dual channel.

BUT... (queue music *Dun dun duuuhhhnnnn)

Now, it seems to be unstable. Before when i had 1 4G stick, I would run Prime95 blend just fine. Now, after just a few seconds the workers randomly stop. In no less than a minute 4 of the 6 workers fail. Just browsing the web or watching youtube vids I'd randomly get BSOD's. So I upped the core voltage to 1.4v, and that fixed the BSOD problem, but i still can't run the Blend test without killing innocent workers! I ran memtest on each individual stick and they both passed.

This is super confusing,

Adam

when u install more RAM it puts lot more stress on the memory controller.

You will need to increase voltage to the AMD equivalent of the IMC.

try setting the ram as 2T. Also checked you have them as "Unganged".
Workers failing is most likely to be a ram issue

Sweet pel4. I put them at 2T and restored stock CPU clock and it seems to be running fine. But I dont understand... Xbit labs had their 1055t overclocked to 3.8ghz with vcore 1.375. That doesnt bother me, because every CPU is diff, but their command rate was at 1t... i dont get it. Oh well, it works, right?

Now to get it back to 3.5Ghz.
Thanks pel4... +rep!

Yes it is the default voltage is like 1.11ish you can try with 1.2V and see if it helps

Increase CPU-NB. I had to do that at default speeds on CPU, NB and RAM with 2 DIMMs also. However, you will see a very nice day-to-day benefit on dual channel

Check ram timings especially trc, TRFC0, TRFC1. Trc should be more than 9+24. After that try raising TRFC0 and TRFC1 195ns.

Ok so I raise CPU NB and NB, and should i raise ram voltage?
My ram is rated at 1.5v... should I go any higher than that?

AMD2600... I'm going to check those.

Ok, so tried upping voltage on CPU NB, no difference. Upping Vcore, nothing.
AMD2600, the stock TRFC0 for dimm1 was already at 160ns. Probably why the ram was running fine in single channel. The other slots however were still at 90ns, hence the problem when i installed the second stick. So i changed TRFC1 to 160ns and TADA problem solved.

Thanks a bunch fellas! I can count on you!

Adam

BTW xd_1771 I'm loving the Ram with the GPU cooler sunglasses lol
