Don't get me wrong, these are just my opinion. Not saying or trying to critize JF or anyone here. But I kinda have mix feelings about Bulldozer, I mean, part of me want them to do good and release the damn chip. But part of me, don't like secrets hidden from me and hide stuff that I don't know about (works on AM3+ only, etc).
Keeping secrets isn't bad all the time, but AMD is doing too much of it. Especially with the release so close, the least they could do is release a little tease... like an i5 2500k vs. Bulldozer in Bad Company 2 or some other game that likes CPUs.

Agreed. It is simply a bunch of uninformed conjecture based on extremely few real world facts. Some speak as though they (AMD) have personally confided in them, and they know without doubt, the absolute outcome. Which in truth, the only persons knowing the hard numbers are those that work at AMD.

The only thing I know for sure is, I don't know.

Benchmarks. That's the word you're looking for. But yeah, benchmark would be nice, if not, maybe the actually picture of the CPU. Anything type of visual aid. Doesn't have to be a whole lot.

Would you rather have our money, or Intel? I mean, we already know Intel is ahead, and more than likely will stay that way. There's no denying it. They have more of a market share, more revenue and manpower to get the job done.

Especially considering Ivy Bridge will work in their current 1155 sockets, and will be upwards to a 20% increase over Sandy Bridge.

I find it amazing that 5 months prior to Sandy Bridge's launch, there was a definite Yes or No to the socket issue. No, it would not work with 1156 motherboards. Yes you need a new motherboard.

We're bout a month and a half away from Bulldozer's release and we still don't have any clear answers. All we know is motherboard manufacturers are saying "You can run it with a Bios update". AMD is saying "We won't support it".

I'm sure AMD lost customers by being wishy washy with details. I'd rather be screwed over socket by socket for a new CPU and know it's definite than be held in suspense wondering what's going to work and what's not.

Leaks aren't always as bad as you're trying to make them seem.

One of the very few times I agree with some of the things you say. +rep
1st paragraph:
That's the whole point they still want people buying phenoms. and saying "Wow look how a chip that will cost abit more than a phenom that launches in afew weeks CRUSHES a phenom" won't help them do that.

2nd:
lol what are you trying to do? This guy is paid for those words not to mean a damn thing to him.

3rd:
AMD are releasing more bulldozers later as well

4th:
yes a poor job on intels part for leak prevention

5th:
JF-AMD explained why there are no benchmarks quite abit, The debate between whether current AM3 boards would be compatible was for the most part settled. Yes, some motherboards would do it and some would not. Their respective manufactures have released which models will support AM3+.

6th:
Your opinion.

1) Most people who want to upgrade already have Phenoms and are trying to hold out, but still a large amount are switching to Sandy Bridge

2) He's getting paid because of people like us are buying a product his company supplied. We can just as easily jump ship and be giving Intel our money. If he doesn't get our money, he doesn't get paid.

It's just common sense. If our clients don't give us money to maintain their websites or do advertising for them, then I don't get paid. You see how having a job works?

3) Yeah they are, I know. But who's to say that Bulldozer will even be marginally close to Sandy Bridge? For all we know is they can be on par with the i7 920. Then the new ones can be on par with the i7 860.

4) Wasn't a leak, they released it.

5) They were still beating around the bush with their answers. It was like walking into a fast food restaurant and asking "Does this come with fries" "I guess".

6) Thanks for pointing out the obvious, we couldn't have figured it out with your Sherlock Holmes detective skills.

7) See 6.

Maybe I should start a poll asking "How many people switched because of the lack of information given by AMD?" I'm sure my "opinion" would surprise you on how many people had the same "opinion" as me.

Fanboy how? I've owned AMD CPUs since 754 up until last year then again this year. I've been satisfied but am starting to crave more performance now that I have a job and afford something superior.

Rest your case on one person's comment, eh?

I think you are going to find that people who have patience and/or don't have the money to buy two chips in quick succession are just fine waiting to see how Bulldozer will pan out in a few months time.

However, people that have the money are probably already running i7's.
