[IGN] Crysis 2 Story Trailer - Page 10

I'll answer:It's a completely linear game. The typical FPS on rails that are released nowadays. I was never a huge fan of Crysis, but I did at least appreciate how open it was and enjoyed the fact that you could approach an objective however you wanted. That was enough to get me to play it all the way through, and I know plenty of other games that I never even did that for. All that is gone now. If you like the linear FPS', then you will probably enjoy this. But anyone that liked the openness of the first Crysis is going to be EXTREMELY disappointed when they see what Crytek did to the game.

Obviously don't take anyone's word for it, I expect people to buy it and try for themselves. I just don't want to see anyone get their hopes up thinking this is a real sequel to Crysis. I know I won't be buying it now, and I was REALLY hoping I would be. But I don't like to waste money on games I can see I will never finish, so this is out.

looks so good.
the graphics dont look as good as the 1st one but the gameplay looks a lot better.

now all they need to do is bring out a PC exclusive of crysis 3 with the graphics and the gameplay combined. not to be on the ps3 or x-box, just the PC.

They promised improved facial animation, but from the trailer, you get the opposite. So the only explanation is either: they were lying OR they are afraid to show the PC version yet, because then console owners will just be hugely disappointed with what they get.

If the PC version is so much better in this regard (and others), I'm surprised it's coming out on the same day as the consoles and not a week later.

It sucks.
I am the first to admit that everyone is entitled to their own opinion, that being said, by your own admission you didn't like the first game, so doesnt that make your opinion of this one inherently skewed and thus null? It would be like having a Klan member running the black history month assembly in an elementary school and trusting his opinions as unbiased and worthwhile

So based on clips of game footage you are guessing that it is completely linear then taking that guess, posting as fact and making it a point to not pickup the game and advising others they will be disappointed by something that may or may not be true due to the fictitious circumstances created by your interpretation? Interesting.

In other news, I would recommend people not vote Obama for a second term as i do believe he will be transforming into a 16ft demon soon

Judging by his answer I think he has played the <you know what>. Linear or not it's going to be a great game looking at those trailers and I'll be buying it as soon as it's available on steam.

Let me explain what crysis 2 is:

Crysis 2 is Crysis pseudo-optimized with a console hud, menu, gameplay and multiplayer.

As someone explained before, the open aspect that a lot of people loved out of the previous crysis games (at least i loved it) is gone. It's a total COD with scripted behavior and a cutscenes.

The hud has been extremely simplified and so has the nanosuit, forget about power mode to punch people around or jump or shoot or combining speed + power for a hyper jump, it's all hold Xkey to power-jump, running is now speed mode, and most "abilities" have been simplified for an environment with a small number of keys (console controllers), sort of slashnhack style. And, SURE, there are new features for the nanosuit, like nanovision (infrared), or some others (most of them unlockable, lol). But even the Binoculars are now "Press M2 to zoom to a set zoom we think is good enough for every situation".

The MP maps are now, good enough for 12 players... (if you get my idea, ahem)

Oh, and there's a 5 minute (exaggerating) talk with mr nanosuit every time you "unlock" a new ability for the nanosuit. Somewhat like this CLICKHERE.

If for crytek, upgrading the nanosuit to version 2.0 means removing the openness and making it into an encrypted behavior robot, simplifying it and making it ez-60 IQ mode (for 12yos). Then i understand completely why the named this upcoming version of crysis "Crysis 2".

Sorry for the massive rant. But... Consoles anyone? I'm pretty sure the "we're developing all 3 version @ the same time & pc will be the best of them all" was a lie.

And don't judge me wrong. I am looking forward for Crysis 2. I just hope it's not what i described in this post.

OH, btw, i haven't played the game. I picked all this up from videos and such.

It was the most epic conclusion (I guess? as there are still more MGS titles coming) to any franchise I have ever.. ever seen/played.

I don't care if it was cut-scenes the majority of the game.. Fact is it's another MGS game.. and it was simply amazing.

But all together I respect your opinion of any game, brand or even type of biscuit. I won't argue with you.

But I like Custard Creams..
