Not quite sure then. Maybe just a defective unit? Did you already contact D-Link TS/CS?

Make sure you flash it to the latest firmware. There are some nasty bugs on the older firmwares.

I had one of these, used it for 6 months, nothing but problems with it. Tried updating firmware, RMAed it to Dlink and everything. I used to reset it daily as nothing would be able to connect. Replaced it with a Netgear WNDR3700 and couldn't be happier. Note the reason I tried the 655 is because I got it brand new for $70 this time last year.

Prefer a router that can do Tomato, etc. Further, my Netgear is awesome I am using. If it weren't though I would consider this although you can get decent routers around $30 on Black Friday.

Yea, I customization is always good, but shouldn't always be necessary, as long as all the necessary features are there and work.

Agreed. It should not be necessary. I think any technical product should be user friendly and easy to operate without any hiccups. Some people don't like that such as the easier to use Windows 7 vs XP or Apple's point of view in easy to use features or even Linux and their growing easy to use software (Ubuntu, Android, Honeycomb, etc.). I don't know why you would not like it unless it restricted access to customization and different files and advanced features for those that want to use them (Apple OS has some of these issues). I hate it a router and the Xbox 360 has issues with it, etc. So easy to use out of the box is great. I just like having the option at times. Right now I am just using a Netgear wireless router and it is a tank. No issues yet.
