painting Ripjaws heatsink??

Thread Starter
has anyone done this before? is there a guide on how to remove/reinstall the heatsink?
i believe you just got to pry the heatsink off of the RAM and spraypaint them. You could just go on ebay though and buy ramsinks to paint

The title says repaint a heatsink.
The question is about removing it.

Which one?
? Both?

Different heatsinks have various amount of contact area and adhesive.
It's a high temp paint on them as well.

There are little clips at the top of the heat spreaders. You need to unclip them gently or youll break the clip. Then pry the heat spreader off slowly, working your way around.

I did this and replace them with a different heat spreader .Good luck!

So, did you try painting 'em? I'd be curious to see the results. Also, if you did try this, how'd you reattach the heat spreaders? Surely the original adhesive stuff wasn't still good?

What'd you swap 'em out for? I don't see a ton of options out there...
