Shuma-gorath and Jill are going to be DLC (unlockable) if you didn't get the special edition. Comes out March 1st from what I hear. 400 ms points, $5, PSN. Comes with costumes and new mode of play as well.

The costumes and game mode are separate from the 2 characters DLC.

I love the game. I just have a few major problems with it.

1)No Megaman. I mean - for real Capcom? I mean don't get me wrong. I love Zero and was shocked to see him in it. But where the hell is Megaman, X, or even my favorite Barrell? I mean CMON!!!!! How the hell do you include someone like Tronn who I thought would actually be better in this one but sucks just as much if not more!!! I'm pissed.

2)I don't understand Capcom and their final bosses for fighting games. After the complaints about Seth from SF4 and his just complete cheat of an AI, they seemed to SPITEFULLY make Galacticus like ridiculously annoying. You have to fight 2 clone characters at the same time who if you don't eleminate quickly will shred your team apart because their AI is like Seth x 2. Then Galacticus himself is absolutely stupid - his ultimate attack which I'm unaware if you can avoid will kill your character. And if it doesn't, it can kill two if not all 3 of your characters at once. What the freakin hell?! It does like 300 hits all across the screen if you're assisting in anyway, or even doing a super crossover combo - you're done for.

He's beatable once you get it right, but that means nothing when it's just retarded. You like have to have at least 2 and a 1/2 characters if you want to beat him or you're going to loose unless by luck you deal enough damage.

3)I dislike alot of the characters in general. My favorites so far are Chris, Zero, and Dante. Obviously classics like Ryu are still good but I'm tired of him.

My brother got this game. Meh, its alright... Nothing like the classics on sega genesis (Street fighter) but it is a decent game overall for $50.
People are quite good online considering it just came out. LOL

This game is amazing.

To me, it's like a fusion of TvC and MvC. I would say it is definitely worth it.

Ugh. I know. People are TOO good. I suck universally at fighting games, and I thought maybe I'd be better with this one. At first I did. Then I tried 5 online matches and got whooped 4.5/5 times. The .5 comes from the 5th round where I got whooped but then went clutch with Dante and just slammed the guy with a 1/4 of my HP left. I got all 3 of his characters with their full health bars. Either he gave up or he just couldn't break free of my Dante's can-o-whoop-ass combos. I love him so damn much.

Why do I suck at these games sooooo badly lol
I can go against the AI no problem up until they start doing combos. Then it gets a bit challenging. When live people SPAM combos - I just give up. I have no idea how to string together combos like these people do. It's insane.

I'm loving the game, just wished that we could watch the matches online instead of sitting in the lobby waiting...gets pretty boring when there's a lot of people in your lobby. My lovely team is Arthur, Dante, & Akuma. The game is sort of hard to get adjusted to. Button mashing however works perfectly for this game, in which I do not like. But it was well worth my $60 bucks.

Just got this today also! I was stoked to hear a sequel for MVC2 finally coming out. And it only took 11 years! I've only been playing it for about 8 hours. So here are my impressions.

- It feels slower than MVC2. It may just be the way I play, but attacks and movement just don't have the speed it did before. Maybe it was because I played Turbo mode. Oh well. I'll have to get used to it. It isn't too bad.

- Buttons dumbed down. No kicks or punches. Only a Low, Medium and High attack. Then theres the special button. Multi-use button that does everything. Launch, switch characters mid combo, massive down smash. It does everything.

- Current re-playability lacking. Sure I can go online and get whooped, but MVC2 made me want to beat the game continuously to get points and unlock characters and costumes. After unlocking the first 4, there really isn't anything else you can do but unlock movies, artwork, etc. And the boss also refuses to let me beat the game. Shocker, I know.

- The boss makes me want to punch myself in the face. I've only beat it twice, but the final boss is a pain. If you don't burn down the first phase fast enough, it will tear you a new one. The first time around, the AI wasn't too bad. But then the second time beating the game, when I started to switch characters mid combo, they started learning. The second phase is OK if you time your hyper jumps, and have at least 2 characters.

- Voice acting sort of annoyed me. I don't know why. I think it was because I was doing the missions, trying to land a combo, and all I heard was the same sound bit try after try after try after try. This isn't a big issue though.

I guess those are negatives. But there really are some positives.

- Visuals are amazing. It's like a rainbow made love to a unicorn, gave birth to a baby, and the placenta and afterbirth exploded all over the screen. I'm not a fan of the cell shading though. I would have loved some HD 2D character sprites. But that's just me and my age showing.

- Combo capabilities. One of my favorite things in the game is switching out mid air combo to another character. It opens up so many different possibilities when linking combos. I think I spent an hour just switching out characters in the air linking to a hyper combo. It feels amazing and looks BA. You can switch up twice and it uses no hyper gauge. There's also something called X-factor but I don't know how to use it properly. I guess it cancels special, to go into another special? Meh, dunno.

- Procrastinating capabilities. I didn't have any other reason not to do my homework because I had no other game to play. Now I do. Thanks MVC3.

I guess that's it for now. If I remember anymore, I'll add it. It's a fun game and really brings me back. I just expected more after the wait.

EDIT: Take into consideration that this is from someone who really doesn't like changing a good thing. I really enjoyed the MVC2 mechanics and all around game, and did not want so much to change.

EDIT#2: Whoops. This is the Xbox thread. Barely noticed. I bought the one for PS3. Just letting you know.
