Havent played Civ 5 in a few months, have they made the game run better late-game?

I remember everyone having the same issue where if you play with a lot of AI opponents, after about 100-150 turns the game would slow to a crawl because so much is going on. Is there a patch or fix? Really sucks waiting 20-30 seconds between each turn.

I loaded it up the other day and it still crawls on my 300th turn. Might be because I'm on a world map, but I did notice a bump after putting in the 570.

I just got this game a week and a half ago. Its fun but its lags hard later in the game. Only play multiplayer with a few buds.

Maybe I should host the next one

Late game, turns still take FOREVER to process. I made the mistake of doing 19 civs and maxed city-states on a huge map. I'm at like turn 440. I can't go on.

Does not take me forever to crank turns, no matter the settings... but... the late game has some balance issues and the AI is on crack sometimes (especially on King) routinely using armada's of mobile sams as city attackers... very strange... many civ games have suffered from this though.
