Removing Pin Connectors

Thread Starter
Just received my Molex 3 pin fan removal tool and I already broke one of my fans.

Luckily it's one I'm not using that I wanted to test on. I pulled the wire right out of the socket.

Why is this not working...?

I put the tool into the pin and attempt to pull. Nothing happens except my hand hurt. More pressure leads to the above. Help!

For fan pins you do not put the tool into the pin, you push in the exposed metal of the pin on the side of the connector while pulling gently on the wire.
