Well if they are going to be released, how are they going to manage power usage as a stock 580 goes way over the 300W max without the power limiter.

The only way possible to do it that i could see is to use two 560 cores.

Well, I know not full price, but using them makes them go down by like 25% compared to selling them new.

This is a stinker. I hope they come out with some kind of benchmark soon so I can make a freaking decision!

What I'm asking is whether 3x gtx580's are going to be the same or better than 2x gtx590's so i can decide whether to sell my cards. But thank you for your insight.
A 590 will probably or hopefully have more Vram than the 580, which I thought was obvious. So yeah, my 2 cents.

Which does not scale with SLI. Having 3 cards at 2GB of ram apiece (or whatever the 580 is) has the same vram as one card. That's because the memory has to be mirrored between GPUs.

It will have 3GB at least, maybe an aftermarket 590 will have 6GB,
who knows?

I guess all I can do is wait and see. Hopefully the card will come out sooner rather than later!

Nope. I can't max Just Cause 2 @ 2560 x 1440 with my 5970. You'd be surprised.

I'd think the sweet spot would be two in SLI, best price/performance ratio, but hell, if you have the money, why not throw in another.

Watercool and oc them...if history shows anything about gpus, its how horribly quad scales over tri...and the amount of micro stutter dual gpu pcbs (not all) suffer from.

I wouldn't worry about any game changing nvidia release until Kepler later this year.
