Mysterious Restart(s)?

Thread Starter
My computer just mysterious restarted. I was opening CS:S and Alt-Tabed to check my web browser and boom restart. Could this harm my hardware? Any ideas as to what caused this?

UPDATE: It just restarted AGAIN.

I was like "wth? I click the mouse button it fires back up half way through boot process it turns off again I click mouse it fires back up now it is working fine. Any idea?

Seems like nothing is going my way. -.-

You can check your event viewer if you want.

I wouldn't, because I'm borderline OCD about everything working perfectly and I'd rather ignore small issues like that.

Stuff like this just happens sometimes; it's best to just forget about it unless it happens again.

No BSODs or mindumps?

If you drop your OC and go to stock does it still happen?

Over time some CPUs can need more voltage for the same clocks, try bumping Vcore a bit and see if that changes anything.

Dammit... Is this causing any harm to my system? As in sending weird volts maybe frying something out? On startup it told me my OC failed when I know it is fully stable. My PSU has been acting funny, there was a high pitched whining the day I jumped it to install WC. Maybe too little of a load on it? Oy Vey just one problem after another it seems still haven't fixed my WC...

No BSOD or minidumps. I KNOW this OC is stable. I have ran it for 5 plus days folding at these exact settings.

I'd try a CPU test with OCCT and check the voltage graphs for anything strange.

Going to dial back the OC and do that right now. I just run it and check the log files for that chart correct? How long?

Could the PSU failing fry my entire system? Anyone know?
PSU failing can be a big problem. Yea just run the test for a little while as long as CPU/NB/VRM temps are safe, check the graphs if you haven't crashed by then. If something looks strange back off and try another PSU, if not keep running the test at stock for a longer graph, your voltages for the previous OC might have needed some tweaking.
