Which card for BF3 - Page 3

True that. I sometimes turn off sli and I can still lock on 60 fps with one card. I guess that means I'm good for a while though.

I absolutely hated 5770 Crossfire when I had a second card. Crossfire was such a huge hassle, and didn't work well with Bad Company 2 at all. I'm going with a single Nvidia card for my BF3 upgrade.

I think a GTX 560 Ti or a GTX 570 would suffice.

Which card that is out now will be able to run it.

He doesn't want overkill, cheaper the better.

Any suggestions?
AMD 6970 would be the best price/performance card to get.

The word is that DICE/EA are rendering everything in the game with a GTX580.

That being said, a GTX580 should max out the game...at least it's a reference...

A HD5870 or better / GTX 560Ti or better should be running the game fine...I don't know much about mid-range cards, but most should be alright to run the game at med-high settings...

That's seriously all we know about BF3 specs. The demo rig ran a quad core CPU (unspecified) with a GTX580. Other than the tweet saying that if you could run BC2 well, you will be able to run BF3, everything is complete speculation.

I'd go with the 570 and nothing less - rep the 570 for a while until games really start stressing the system and by that time, the price of a single 570 should have dropped significantly at which point you should pick another one up and run them in SLI. that way you future proof yourself. don't pick up two lesser cards to run in SLI or CF right now or you'll just have to spend the same amount when the next game comes out.
