i3 540 onboard graphics - is there a way to disable it?

Thread Starter
Hi guys, this will be my first post in this forum. Ive tried looking everywhere for info i might need, but i still cand find exactly what im looking for.

Anyway, im running a n i3 540 on a DH55TC board, with a GeForce GTS 450 GPU. My question is, is there a way for me disable the onboard graphics that my processor comes with since i wont be using it anymore? I was hoping to free up some RAM in the process. If there's already a similar thread for this, kindly point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance.

Ive tried looking through the bios already, it seems i cant find it anywhere. What exactly am i looking for? Under video settings, it only lets me choose which output settings i want and how much memory it will use. Thats pretty much it.
it should be under something like integrated peripherals or on-board settings

@Formed: It's against the TOS to ask for REP I believe, and it just makes you look bad.

As long you plug into the video outputs on your gpu it should work.

And yes its against the TOS to ask for rep.

Thank you guys for the reply.

I forgot to mention that i already have my GPU running fine the way I want it to. The reason why I want to disable the graphics is because I want to hopefully free up some RAM which I think i cant/wont use. Even with a dedicated GPU, my system still eats up some of my RAM, with only 3.86gb usable, as it says on my system info. I was thinking maybe this could be a solution for that.

This is just a product of my obsessive-compulsiveness, as i dont want to leave anything to waste. Im beginning to realize that there is really no solution to my problem, aside from purchasing a better processor.

Are you running windows 64bit or 32bit?
Last i remember 32bit windows only allows up to 3gb - 3.5 system memory.

*Edit*
Fill out your Sig Rig so we can see what other hardware you have, Ram branding OS type etc.
Thanks.
