$700-800 Slight gaming rig

Thread Starter
Hey guys my cousin recently asked me to help him build a computer for basic school work and he wants to play some games. I know for sure the main game he wants to play is League of Legend. His current budget is about 700 dollars and he is going to be using a 19 inch monitor.

Here is the league of legends specs
http://support.leagueoflegends.com/e...m-requirements

I haven't been reading up about computer parts recently so I wanted to see if these parts are compatible. Any suggestions would be nice.

Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-P55-USB3 LGA 1156 Intel P55
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...scrollFullInfo

CPU: Intel Core i3-550 Clarkdale 3.2GHz
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115065

Case: Antec 300
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16811129042

Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136073

PSU: OCZ ModXStream Pro OCZ600MXSP 600W ATX12V
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817341017
Will this PSU power everything and anyone have any experience with it?

RAM: G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231180

Video Card: MSI R5770 Hawk Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127490
He is going to be using a 19 inch monitor only. Is this card good enough or is it overkill for a monitor of that size?

Thanks!!

total 689$ + get the cabinet and hdd you selected. This should be his new rig.
My point is..... when he is spending money, why not go for the best, no point in getting a second grade product if a better one costs just 20bucks more.

If your on a budget forget about intel. AMD offer much better price per dollar. Get a Phenom x4 955be cpu, psu wise I would be looking at an Antec earth watts or true power of around 500w, they both offer excellent quality and value for money. Definitely look at getting either a GTX 460 or 6850, they are a massive improvement over the 5770.

This maybe, is better than your option:

CM690 II Basic $69.99
MSI N460GTX CYCLONE 1GB $199.99 (-$30 MIR)
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 2x2GB DDR3-1600 $64.99
Combo (AMD 965 BE + M4A88TD-V EVO/USB3 SATA3) $259.98
Combo (CMPSU-650TX + Spinpoint F3 1TB) $144.98 (-$10 MIR)

Subtotal:$739.93 ($699 with MIR)

Awesomeness !

Looks like a great little intel budget gamer OP. I just got mine put together(found a great deal on the 550 for a hundred bucks!) after being on the AMD wagon for the last 6 or 7 years. I would change up the ram a little bit, at that price you can get some good budget 1600 sticks, love my Mushkin stuffs =) Definitely don't need 70-80 dollar ram for a little budget gamer.
