Ordering a custom door for the 600T from MNPCTech

Thread Starter
I picked up a Corsair 600T recently. I haven't had time to move the parts in one of my rigs over. One thing I find lacking is cooling to the GPU area (and in general). I was considering the idea of mounting a fan on the door.

Lacking tools to cut a clean hole (and I'd like it to be professional looking), I shot Bill Owen an email at Mnpctech.com.

I emailed him Sunday afternoon and he got back to me first thing Monday morning (very nice smile.gif).

I asked if he could mod a door I would send him. He of course replied that he could. After a couple of more exchanged emails (again very prompt responses) he made a suggestion that I simply could not refuse...

"Another option I can offer is milling an acrylic side panel for your case with 200mm perforated fan location. It would be cnc milled from 1/5" thick clear cast acrylic. The acrylic panel will weigh around 7pds. You would have to swap your 600T's latches to our panel."

I asked him for a pic of it (although I believe I have seen a similar mod that he did). Frankly it sounds amazing. I plan to order it today. Given the top quality that Bill Owen brings to case modding and the excellent service he's demonstrated thus far, I anticipate being very happy.

I believe I found some pics that will represent what it will look like (except in my case, it will have perforations and a big honking fan on it)

Does anyone know if the Coolermaster Megaflow 200mm fans will fit into the existing 200mm mounts on the 600T?

I'd like to swap out the two white Corsair ones with red ones from Coolermaster.

Well now I'm on the fence. The new door being released by Corsair has both a window and a mesh insert and they are interchangeable.

Anyone seen any sign of these new doors in the wild?

Plus, Corsair is releasing a white version of the case that includes the window/mesh optional door as well.

Four white LED Xigmatek 120mm fans in the door would have a huge impact on the case temperatures....

What's the decision based on? Performancewise, you can add fans to the giant acrylic panel from MNPC, I think it just comes down to whether you want a full window or a window at all and instead just fans...

Bill obviously does great work, so quality is not an issue, personally I'm not a fan of full acrylic sides because I don't like have everything getting shown off, I prefer the smaller like I did in my build because it's able to highlight certain areas or components.

I'm a bit nervous about a full acrylic panel. I change hardware almost weekly in all of my cases and have dinged up and scratched doors on a regular basis. I don't doubt the acrylic door's quality but more my ability to protect it.

Also, I'm not really that concerned about a window but more about additional cooling for the 600T.

Put a sheet of lamin-x on both sides. If it scratches just replace the lamin-x.
