Best PhysX card?

Thread Starter
Hi everyone.

I might be using my spare GTX 260+ as a PhysX card with my GTX 580. Which card would be better for PhysX? I have heard the 9800 is pretty good. Should I sell my 260 and get a different card?

Your GTX260+ will perform very well as a Phsyx card. It will be much better than a 9800GT.

Take a look at the graph below. Though it is just 1 game and cannot be used as a representation, it still gives you a general feel of the relative performance of various cards as Physx card.

OK thanks. And will the card perform well if it is fitted into a PCI-e x8? I have an extra x18 but it will cover up the GTX 580's airflow.

It has been proven the even PCI-e x4 slots are good enough for Physx cards.

You will be fine once you get it working!

It will not have a noticeable impact if you use it in the x8 slot. I can't remember where the thread is on here, but the difference between running a card at x16 to x8 was minor.

Sorry for double post....

I have downloaded the latest nVidia driver and plugged in the 260. The fans are still running at full speed. I have checked the nvidia control panel and device manager and they haven't got the 260 there.

Any ideas?
