Msi frozr 2 570 upgrade - Page 2

You may want to look at this review before selling your 470 for $200, and I'd imagine paying close to $400 after Tax & Shipping

Have you considered adding a 2nd 470 instead and overclocking them to 800-1600-1800, which would net you 570 stock performance. It may be a cheaper option for now, gotta keep in mind that Kepler will be out later this year.

Is your monitor 1080p?

I'm well aware of what the 570 is capable of - but for the price it may not be worth it when you already have a 470, adding a 2nd makes more sense.

That's weird, because it should, and both cards should run at 8x 8x.

So in your case, it would make sense to get a 570, though the performance increase will be minimal, especially at your resolution. There's no game my 470 can't run on max settings, and I haven't had the need to get a 2nd, I was tempted to, but I'm better off waiting for a Kepler.

The thing is adding a 2nd 470 vs a Single 570 or 580 is a huge increase, and I know you think you will want to add a 2nd 570 in a few months, but when you see what Kepler has to offer, I'm sure you will rather sell that 570 and pick up a 670/80.

In my case, I looked at these numbers, to decide whether I should upgrade to the 570 or a 2nd 470 instead as it would be more economical. So far, I still haven't gone for the 2nd card, and still may not upgrade until Kepler, but that's just me, you may need the extra horsepower, and if it makes sense go for the 570
